This weaving comes from a memory of opening up the balikbayan boxes my dad would bring back home to the Philippines from the U.S. The strawberry candies were not particularly my favorite, but the wrapper-the colors, the smell, and the taste brings me back to that particular time. By not using the original colors of the candy, I am relying on memory to reanimate the images on the weaving.
