"Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies, was often cited as the demon behind the Salem witch trials. I wanted to explore what it would mean if a woman, accused of witchcraft, really DID have the powers of Hell behind her. After all, what witch that actually have magical powers would allow herself to be burned at the stake? This piece hopes to acknowledge all the women killed by patriarchy and reimagine them as powerful sorceresses with the power to survive their killers."
