This piece emerges in a context where figures of power across the world are becoming increasingly extreme in their political views. As these leaders grow more radical, global tensions intensify, and crises from the past resurface.
In such turbulent times, certain political figures play pivotal roles. Their opinion on a single conflict can ripple across nations, shaping the fate of thousands.
Le Roi Fou (The Fool King) embodies a figure of authority draped in the colors of the United States and France, two key actors on the international stage. His attire appears excessive, almost grotesque: oversized garments, overloaded with symbols and gold. This opulence echoes the medieval era, when kings and nobles wielded absolute power, standing against democratic ideals.
Yet this king is also a fool. Blinded by his own vanity. Despite his foolishness, he still holds power: he possesses the fruits, the sustenance. In his hand rests the watermelon of Palestine, at his feet lie the grapes of Ukraine, carelessly thrown away.
