I'm exploring swan planters and geraniums as a way to connect with the front yards, señoras, and cracked sidewalks of my Los Angeles childhood. The smell of the leaf, the animal shaped planters, and the urban setting brings out that nostalgia. 

I work in a unique mixture of block printing and painting. The block print on thin Japanese paper is embedded into the painting.
