Part of my ongoing Symbiotic series, this piece is a comtemporary take on the tradditional momento Mori, with a focus on climate change. We are tied to the enviroment, and its health dictates our survival. All of my paintings are based on real life temporary sculptures, which are built, photographed, and allowed to return back to nature. This piece focuses on wildflowers, with a california golden poppy tucked in underneath the blue jay wing (a nod to my hometown of Toronto, Ont)
