"As someone born in Mexico without exposure to the cultural practices and traditions of indigenous groups, understanding and embracing my indigenous heritage has become challenging, resulting in a blurred sense of identity. This piece represents how the passage of time has created a growing barrier, making the concept of an indigenous heritage increasingly faint. Through my work, I strive to establish a connection with that part of myself, fostering a sense of belonging while honoring and respecting the indigenous peoples of the past, present, and future."
