Created from a 35mm film collage, La Chicanita is a celebration of my roots as an Angeleno. The image of a young girl holding a Mexican flag in front of a woman driving a pink lowrider is a symbol of generational strength and cultural pride. Lowriders have always been a sign of success in our community, and this piece highlights the resilience and capability of the women who are at the heart of it all.
